Digital collections of the Center of Oral History
The collections of the Center of Oral History currently comprise over 2,000 interviews originating primarily from its own grant projects which focus on various aspects of Czech and Czechoslovak contemporary history. The interviews are gradually digitized and catalogued. The database contains verbatim transcriptions of the interviews, authorized versions of texts intended for publication, audio recordings and other sources provided by the narrators. The interviews are made accessible to researchers from among the professional and broad public upon completion of a research sheet which includes the researcher’s affidavit, by which he/she undertakes to comply with the Code of Ethics of the Czech Oral History Association. Any further disposal with the interviews is subject to the Act on Archives and provisions of informed consent of the individual interviewees. The database can currently be used in its basic form only (i.e., remote viewing of the documents saved, without the search option).
