Ukrainian-Czech dictionary of neologisms
The Ukrainian-Czech dictionary of neologisms brings material usable for the creation of a modern Ukrainian-Czech dictionary capturing changes that have occurred in the vocabulary of both languages over the last few decades. New words appear in both the professional and semi-professional spheres, frequently as loan words from foreign languages, Anglicisms, Europeisms. At the same time, slang words formerly tabooized, and words and expressions reflecting heretofore ignored words associated with national etiquette, religiosity, etc. are becoming a part of the usage. That is why the neological material following on the previously compiled basic vocabulary of the relevant language inevitably appears to be rather heterogeneous; its actual weight, and the extent to which it has become entrenched in contemporary language, can only become apparent after present day vocabularies of both languages are covered lexicographically to a greater extent.
