Slovenian-Czech dictionary

The Department of Linguistics and Lexicography of the Institute of Slavonic Studies of the CAS, v. v. i. has been working on the dictionary since 2002. It is a medium-size dictionary boasting all the features of a modern translation dictionary and ample exemplification. The entries selected for inclusion in the dictionary are to be representative of vocabulary used in journalism, artistic and scientific texts, although the colloquial layer of the language is not omitted, either. Selection of the vocabulary is based on the frequency of occurrence of lexical units in Slovenian (using corpuses), as well as the anticipated needs of dictionary users (legal, IT, economic etc. terminology is represented).
