Collection and documentation funds of the Brno Department of Institute of Ethnology of the CAS – correspondence
The source contains correspondence relating to the history and activities of the Brno department as the successor of the former Working Committee for Czech Folk Song in Moravia and Silesia, and later on, the State Institute for Folk Song. It includes not only correspondence relating directly to all the predecessors of the current department, but also older correspondence (for instance, correspondence pertaining to the preparation of the Czechoslavic Ethnographic Exhibition, held in Prague in 1895). One of the most important parts of the correspondence funds is correspondence of important figures of Czech folklore studies – F. Bartoš, L. Janáček, F. Kyselková, H. Bím, and other collectors of folklore, not only musical.
