Card catalogue of lexical archive (1911–1991)

The card catalogue of the modern Czech lexical archive (NLA) contains excerpted material which served as a basis for all the monolingual Czech dictionaries. The collection of linguistic data was performed in accordance with carefully designed excerption rules (of 1911, 1917). Card excerpts were made mainly from fine literature, but also from specialized literature, with selected excerption from newspapers, journals and translations. The earliest time limit for excerption was set at 1770: as a result, it was possible to document the Czech language in the National Revival period; the other limit were the 1990s.
